Bravo T-jet with TD04

Hi from Turkey.

I have a Bravo T-jet with VL37. It is too weak not only at high rews, also at mid rews. So I want to improve mid rews as well. I plan to install TD04, which is common for t-jet's. But I'm not sure about the low rews. I use my car as a daily driving car. So I use my car especially in the rews between 2000-4000rpms. So its important to not to loose low rews boost. Because of this, I think about to put TD035 from forester's, which is slightly smaller than TD04 while sharing the same housing.

My aim is not to be a dyno king:) I want to improve my cars mid and high rews a bit, without loosing any boost at low rews. If you tell me that TD04 is so big to use in daily driving, it spools too late, then I'll choose TD035.

Hi,

For your situation I suggest the installation of the Garrett GT1548R or the GP Abarth SS turbo or a TD035 will be fine.
GT1548 is almost similar to GT1446.

TD035 is a bit bigger than the other 2 but I believe it will have full boost max at 3300rpm whereas the other 2 then have full boost near 3000RPM and spool lower than 2500RPM

I need at least 200nm at 2500rpm because of my highway low speed cruises at 6th gear. I think TD035 is a good choice. Garrett turbos are for double price of TD04 or TD035's. TD04 and TD035 are very cheap and reliable turbos.

How much TD04 and TD035 differs at full boost rpm? Can I get 200nm at 2500rpm or before with TD035? I've examined your TD04 dyno graph. Only the weak part is 2000-3000 rpm band for me. Can I norrow this weak band to 2000-2500 or less?

I believe TD035 is better choice from you from the Mitsubishi brand.
The problem is that we haven't test this turbo yet on any T-Jet, so I cannot tell you exactly number and boost spooling RPM band

What is your advice for exhaust, downpipe and straight pipe diameters? I've planned to use 60 or 63mm for straight pipe and 63mm for downpipe. Is this enough for my plans without lack of backpressure?

What do you think about K03(borgwarner) from vag 1.8T's on a t-jet? It's diameters are nearly same with gt1446. But I've never seen any t-jet with K03. Is there any fittings problem or something else with k03's?

We have checked this turbo but it does not seat well on the T-Jet engine bay.
